Materia tectónica

Tectonic Matter is an open call for contributions to a special issue of Dearq exploring the relationship between architecture, materiality, and construction in an image-driven era. The issue invites architects, researchers, historians, and designers to examine tectonics not simply as technical assembly, but as a way of understanding how structure, craft, labor, fabrication, and material systems shape spatial experience and architectural meaning. Topics range from prototyping and construction cultures to Indigenous building knowledge, digital fabrication, and the spatial consequences of structural logic across contemporary and historical contexts.
